Lorem Ipsum Generator
The Lorem Ipsum Generator creates placeholder “lorem ipsum” filler text for mockups, layouts, and design comps. Choose how many paragraphs, sentences, or words you need and copy the result in one click — all generated in your browser. Sentences are built by picking 6–14 random words from a fixed ~100-word Latin-flavored list (no grammar or word-frequency weighting), and for sentences longer than 8 words, one word is moved to a random position 3 words from either end and given a trailing comma. In Paragraphs mode, toggling "Start with Lorem ipsum" prepends the classic opening line onto whatever paragraph was already generated, so the first paragraph ends up one sentence longer than the rest; in Sentences mode the same toggle instead replaces the first generated sentence outright, so total sentence count matches your input exactly either way. The generator caps input at 200 units regardless of paragraphs, sentences, or words selected — anything higher or lower is silently clamped to the 1–200 range.

Formula & Method
Placeholder text is assembled from the classic lorem ipsum Latin word list into random sentences (6–14 words) and paragraphs (3–6 sentences), optionally beginning with the traditional “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” opening.
Example Calculation
Set the count to 12 and the unit to Words with "Start with Lorem ipsum" checked, then click Generate — a real run produced: "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet irure quae laborum nesciunt error magni ipsam." The first five words are always exactly "lorem ipsum dolor sit amet" when the toggle is on (words 1–5 are overwritten with that literal phrase), the remaining 7 are randomly picked from the word list, and the whole string always gets its first letter capitalized and a period appended at the end — even in Words mode, that capitalization and trailing period happen whether or not "Start with Lorem ipsum" is checked.

In Paragraphs mode, the toggle adds the classic "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit." opening line on top of the paragraph the generator already built, rather than replacing anything — so paragraph one has one extra sentence compared to paragraphs two and beyond. (In Sentences mode, by contrast, the toggle replaces the first generated sentence, so the total sentence count you asked for stays exact.)
